Staff Bios
Stephen J. Morice, CPA
Steve graduated in 1975 from the University of Missouri - St. Louis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration – Accounting. After one year in private industry, Steve joined the firm of Schmitt, Biermann, & Spitznagel, the predecessor firm to what is currently Stephen J. Morice & Associates, P.C. He became a principal in the Firm in 1982.
Steve is a member of the Missouri Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. He has provided quality service to both individuals and closely held businesses in business and tax planning and representation before IRS and other agencies for over 30 years.
Chester E. List, MBA, CPA
Chester is a 1983 graduate of the University of Evansville in Indiana with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration – Accounting. He completed his MBA at the University of Missouri – St. Louis in 1990. Chester joined our firm in December 1995 as a tax manager. He is a member of the Missouri Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. Chester has served as a member of the MSCPA Accounting and Audit Committee for over 20 years and is a past chair of the committee.
St. Louis Office Staff
Robert (Bob) Ossie, CPA
Bob received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration – Accounting from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 1983. He joined this firm that same year. In 1991 he completed his Master’s degree in Finance at St. Louis University. Bob is a member of the Missouri Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.
Vicki L. McDonald, CPA
Vicki is a 1995 graduate of McKendree College in Lebanon, Illinois with a Bachelor of Business Administration - Accounting. After working for several years in private industry while finishing college, she was hired by Stephen J. Morice & Associates as a staff accountant in 1995 and promoted to Manager in 1999. Vicki is involved with nearly all of the services our firm provides, including income tax preparation, financial statement preparation and review, and payroll tax services. She has experience with both Sage (formerly Peachtree) and QuickBooks accounting software.
Deborah A. Deters, CPA
Debbie attended St. Louis Community College and the University of Missouri-St. Louis, earning a Bachelor of Science – Business Administration. After nine years of employment in the manufacturing industry, she became licensed as a CPA in 1993. She joined what at the time was Spitznagel, Morice & Berri, P.C. in 1996. Over the years Debbie has provided expert professional services in all areas of accounting and bookkeeping. She is proficient in Sage (formerly Peachtree) and QuickBooks.
Billie Risinger, Enrolled Agent
Billie has over 20 years of experience in public accounting. She attended college in Florida and here in Missouri. She has been employed by Stephen J. Morice & Associates since 2000. As an Enrolled Agent, she is licensed to represent our clients before the IRS. Billie has extensive experience using both Sage (formerly Peachtree) and QuickBooks.
Louise Effan
Louise has over 30 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and tax preparation. Louise joined the firm of Fiehler & Marcus, P.C. in 2003 and became a member of our staff when that firm joined Stephen J. Morice & Associates, P.C. in 2015. She is knowledgeable in small business accounting software including Sage (formerly Peachtree) and QuickBooks.
Angie Meyers
Angie holds a Master’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Missouri – Columbia. She joined the firm in 2003 as part of our Administrative Staff. Since then, she has been successful in developing positive relationships with both clients and coworkers. In addition to general office management, she is adept in providing support to the firm principal and staff, handling appointments, messages, and written correspondence. She is proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Brenda Williams
Brenda joined our firm in 2012 with over 25 years of bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting experience, in both public and private sectors. She currently provides a full range of payroll services to many of our clients using Sage 50 software, including preparation of Federal and State quarterly and year-end tax returns. She is proficient with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online, providing client support and guidance.
Greg Rapp
Greg is a graduate of Central Methodist University with degrees in both Accounting and Business Management. Greg joined SJM, P.C. in 2012 and has over ten years of public accounting experience. He specializes in General Ledger Accounting and Income Tax preparation. He has extensive experience using and providing client support for QuickBooks and Sage 50 software.
Ranell King
Ranell is a 2014 graduate of Missouri Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Ranell began working in public accounting in 2014 and joined Stephen J. Morice & Associates, P.C. in November of 2015. Ranell has experience in the fields of tax, bookkeeping, and payroll. He is proficient using accounting software such as Sage 50 and QuickBooks.
Festus Office Staff
Tonya Darnell
Tonya joined the firm in 2014 and manages the Festus office. She attended Southeast Missouri State University. Tonya has 27 years of accounting, general ledger, and payroll experience along with 17 years of tax preparation experience. In addition to other duties, she provides a full range of payroll services to many of our clients. She is very skillful in a variety of small business accounting software packages including QuickBooks and Sage 50, and often provides software training to clients.
Vicki Sanderson
Vicki joined the firm in 2014. She attended Illinois Valley Community College and has over 30 years’ experience working with a variety of small businesses. She has extensive experience in the areas of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and tax preparation.
Sharon Kraus
Sharon is a 1984 graduate of Maryville University in St. Louis where she earned a degree in accounting. She has extensive experience in public as well as private accounting. This combination of experience allows her to be proficient with several accounting programs and has developed her knowledge of income tax return preparation.
